Thanksgiving Recap & Foodie Penpal Reveal!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! I am thankful for all the quality time that we got to spend with both of our families. Here’s a quick summary of our day, chronicled in photos!

We started the day with a 5K with my aunt and cousin.

It was a great day full of family, tasty food, fun, games, and lots and lots of laughter!  I really enjoyed my first Californian Thanksgiving!

On a completely different note – this month was my first time participating in Lindsay’s Foodie Penpals over at The Lean Green Bean.  I had such a blast shopping for my penpal, and her package for me was so thoughtful!

My penpal, Ree, did a great job and treated me to many new items that I’ve never tried!  When I opened her package this is what I found…

  1. Almond Roca – Love these things! Chocolately, almondy, delicious.
  2. Pom-Cranberry Crunch Clusters – These fruit and nut clusters are really tasty.  They are really easy to take with you for a quick on-the-go snack.
  3. Apple & Blueberry Granola – I am usually not a fan of fruit flavored cereal, but this granola proved me wrong. It is very very good topped with sliced bananas, cinnamon, and a bunch of milk!
  4. Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt Caramels – These chocolates are by far my favorite thing that my buddy included.  The balance of chocolate, caramels, and salt is perfect.  They were all gone within a week!

I cannot wait to sign-up for the December Foodie Penpal exchange! Shopping for holiday themed food is so much fun!

How was your Thanksgiving?

Turkey Trot: yes or no?

What kinds of pies does your family make/eat?

  1. Your pen pal box looks good! I’ve done it a couple times and it was fun to pick out things that are unique to my area. Looks like you had a good Thanksgiving! My hubby and I did a 5 mile turkey trot and then had dinner & pie at my grandma’s. Those pies looks delicious!
