Sunday Summary – 12/1/2013

After a very busy Thursday and Friday yesterday was pretty low key.  Henri went golfing with his dad while I got in my long run, cleaned the house, did laundry, and took the dogs to the park.

We decided to go out and grab a quick dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant down the street.  Henri got the beef pho…

and I got Shrimp Pho. It was by far our cheapest meal out in a while! haha

 There was a Baskin-Robbins right next store so of course we picked some up for the road.

photo 3 (43)The kid that was working convinced me to try to the Candy Corn flavor and surprisingly it wasn’t horrible…

Henri and I are on a mission to watch 25 holiday movies between now and Christmas so last night we settled in for the evening with Jingle all the Way and Elf.  We busted out the ice cream between movies… I loved my Chocolate Fudge and Gingerbread Junction! (Finn was really into Henri’s Chocolate Peanut Butter)

Somehow, we both fell asleep in the middle of ElfBEFORE 9 PM! I guess we must have been really tired!

Workout Summary

As for my workouts this week everything went really well! I wasn’t planning on racing our turkey trot but at the last minute (literally when the race announcer said “60 seconds til race time”) Henri convinced me to go for it.  I used it as a test to see where I am so that I can make a better plan to get back to where I want to be.  19:12 isn’t horrible, and I found it very encouraging!

Here are the runs and workouts from this week!

Monday – 7 miles @ 7:13 pace, Shoulder Ripper Workouts (NTC)

Tuesday – 6 miles @ 7:24 pace, 1 mile walk @ 14:27 pace, Stability Ball Ab Workout

Wednesday – 7 miles @ 7:27 pace, Arm Definer Workout (NTC)

Thursday – early morning: 5.21 miles @ 7:26 pace, 15 minutes core exercises I turkey trot: 3.1 miles in 19:12

Friday – 7 miles @ 7:00 pace, 1 mile walk @ 15:31 pace

Saturday – 10 miles @ 7:17 pace

Sunday – easy walk with the dogs, Pro Running Stretches (NTC)

Total Miles: 45.31 miles     Average Pace: 7:13

It was a great week overall and I’m getting really excited about where my average pace has gotten to since I’ve started making a big effort at increasing my iron levels!

Sunday – Roast Pork Loin with green beans and roasted sweet potatoes

Monday – Beef and Bean Chili with Cornbread Muffins

Tuesday – Baked Potato Soup with Turkey/Cheese Panini

Wednesday – Spaghetti with Alfredo Sauce, Chicken and broccoli

Thursday – Carne Asada Tacos

Friday – Henri’s work Christmas Party

Saturday – Leftovers or eating out

  1. My goal in the next week is to sit down and watch Elf. BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER. I haven’t had Baskin Robbins in years. I wish we had more around here because we all know I’m all about the ice cream 😉 Great week of training! You got some speedy miles in!
