This week’s training went REALLY well! Considering that I have run for 12 days straight – something I rarely do – I am really happy with how all of my runs went.
I recently read a really interesting article in Runner’s World and the most important thing I took away from it was the importance of easy days. You’ll see that my runs this week really ranged in pace and this article in the reason! I can’t wait to share all that I took away from the article in an entire post on it – coming soon!
My training this week…
Monday – 8.15 miles @ 7:47 pace (including 5 uphill sprints), P90X AbRipperX and N.T.C. Paula Radcliffe Marathon Prep Workout
Tuesday – 9 mile run with workout (3 mile warm-up, 10×1 minute hard @ 5:45 pace/2 minutes easy, 1.5 mile cool down), 6:56 overall pace, N.T.C. Butt Buster Workout
Wednesday – 7 easy miles @ 7:34 pace, N.T.C. Core Crunch Workout & Kara Goucher Stretches
Thursday – 8 mile run with workout (3 mile warm-up, 2 mile push @ 6:42 pace, 1 mile easy, 1 mile push @ 6:07 pace, 1 mile cool-down), 7:05 overall pace
Saturday – 13 mile long run with workout (10 miles @ 7:25 pace, pushed last 3 miles – 6:24, 6:13, 6:23 splits), stretched, foam rolled
Sunday – Rest from running, easy walk with dogs & 5 minutes of plank
Meal planning for this week is super simple – don’t plan anything! We are having dinner with Henri’s family tonight, tomorrow we’re eating out, and then we’ll be home with my family for the rest of the week! Wahoo!
No great pictures of running or food this week so enjoy some pics from the pups at the dog park yesterday!
I hope you are having a great Sunday!
